Strasse Addition
Après Build — Summit Park
Residential Addition — Architectural Glass
The Vision
A compact addition sat with its back to a forest most homes would have killed for. The vision was to stop treating the gable end as a wall with a window in it, and start treating it as the best seat in the house — a single surface bold enough to hold the whole tree line.
The Result
Après Build brought us an addition with one job: connect a compact mountain home in Summit Park to a dense forest sitting just beyond the property line. The corrugated metal shell was already specified. The open question was the gable end facing the pines — and the answer was to fill it entirely with glass: fixed panels at the base, a single large fixed pane running to the apex, the aluminum framing following the pitch of the roofline exactly.
This is now the family gathering space — a place where the homeowners can experience something different while still enjoying the comfort of their own home. It is more than another window; the glass turns the room into an experience.
